BOVINE SPONGIFORM ENCEPHALOPATHY

Definition      

Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) is a transmissible, neuro-degenerative, fatal brain disease of cattle. The disease has a long incubation period of four to five years, but ultimately is fatal for cattle within weeks to months of its onset.
