Quicken is a good personnal finance program that can also be upgraded to a business level.

Good for people who hold one bank acct for all.

QuickBooks is preferable for business who have a separate entity such as a corporation.

Not for a DBA.

Week 1

1. Quickbook Tutorial (see above)

  • Goals:
  • a. Learn about setting up services
    b. Make estimates
    c. Create invoice from estimate

2. If you wish to practice Tutorial access online account:

  • Login with usual user name and password
Week 2 1. Start working with one account.  HVF -your first client!
       a. Import and review account.
       b. Acct will be in bookkeepingCSF (HVF10

Week 3 1. Review estimates/practice sending via e-mail and print
2. Look at inventory, create a report
3. Learn how to add item on inventory
E-mail/Print an invoice for services.
Week 4

1. Work on bank account

  •  Learn bank reconciliation-take tutorial.
  • Reconcile present year (almost no transations. Should be easy.
  • E-mail/Print a yearly Tax report for 2010.
